Design intricate 3D objects using BlocksCAD, a software program that combines 3D modeling with block-based coding. You’ll learn computer coding, graphing skills, and 3-dimensional design. By dragging and dropping blocks of editable code that create and modify 3D shapes, you’ll use problem-solving to build models that can then be exported to a 3D printer.

Travel through Spain’s regional flavors as you prepare three classic dishes. We’ll make gazpacho from Andalucía, a refreshing blend of tomato, cucumber, pepper, olive oil, vinegar, and salt that’s light, vibrant, and served chilled. From Valencia, we’ll prepare a chicken and vegetable paella, Spain’s iconic rice dish known for its rich flavor and tender grains. To finish, we’ll create Peras al Vino from La Rioja, gently poached pears simmered in spiced, alcohol-free wine. All dishes are soy-, dairy-, nut-, and gluten-free.

Learn to paint freely and boldly using acrylic paint. While we will go over the basics like composition, value, and color, the focus will be to connect with your intuition, paint from your heart, and discover your artistic voice. Each week we will focus on a different subject: landscape, still life, human figure, portrait, animals, urban landscape, interior study, and abstraction. All levels are welcome. Expand your creativity and showcase your acting talent as you learn about bringing characters to life. We’ll focus on lighthearted themes through a series of unscripted short scenes and interactive games performed improv style. After developing characters, voices, and personalities, we’ll work together to craft silly stories where everyone gets a turn to shine. Please note the late class start time: Students attending this class should return to school for the 2:15 class start time.

Spark your acting imagination by choosing short stories and bringing them to life on a classroom stage. Through improv and creative acting games, try out different characters, create sound effects, and reinvent stories to be your own. Each week, we will explore a new way of telling stories.

Attendance Policy: If you are unable to commit to attending all sessions, please do not register. Dig deeper into your clay craft to create more intentional, consistent, and functional pieces in this class for students who have basic experience with the potter’s wheel. Set a personal goal—throw and trim a specific form, produce thinner pots, or experiment with larger pieces of clay—and focus on achieving it throughout the course. Cone 5/6 clay, basic throwing tools, and decorating materials such as glazes will be provided, and your pieces will be fired in an electric kiln to produce food-, dishwasher-, and microwave-safe functional ware.

Delve further into the roots and spirit of parkour training and explore how overcoming challenges can build self-confidence and adaptability that can be applied outside of parkour. Previous parkour experience required. Prerequisite - Participants must have attended at least 1 season of PkGen Boston classes to participate.

Whether you want to run a five-miler, a 10K, or a marathon, this course will teach you how to safely achieve your fitness goals by balancing strength, speed, hills, and endurance into your week. Coach Gaggi will give you a custom training program and check in with you weekly to keep you on track. Most classes meet at Spy Pond for a new route every week. Some classes meet at the AHS track for speed workouts. Prerequisite: For the 3 months before the start of the class, you need to have consistently run 3 times a week with at least 2-3 non-stop miles per run, totalling at least 6-9 weekly miles. Transform a printed book into a one-of-a-kind work of art using cutting, painting, collage, stitching, and other creative techniques. See samples of altered books and learn a variety of methods to create your own. Use your book as a journal, a memory of a trip or person, or simply a space to explore your artistic ideas. Papers, markers, pencils, and other supplies will be provided. Bring a hardcover book and any personal items you’d like to include, such as photos, letters, maps, or keepsakes.

Examine the American experience in the Vietnam War from the 1950s through the 1970s. Beginning with the legacy of French colonialism in Vietnam, we will trace the transition of influence from France to the United States and explore how successive presidential administrations—Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon—shaped the course of the conflict. We will also examine the war’s impact on the American homefront, including the rise of antiwar activism and grassroots protest movements. Through lectures, film clips, historical scholarship, class discussion, and primary sources, we will consider one of the central questions of modern American history: how and why did the United States become so deeply involved in Vietnam, and what legacy did the war leave behind?
