Use a camera to capture epic battles and create whimsical worlds. You will make miniature scenes starring your own toys and learn how to photograph them so they look life-sized. Bring your creativity, your imagination, and your toys, and be prepared to master the magic of scale. We’ll transform the ordinary into the extraordinary! iPads will be provided.

Explore many different ways to create, design, and plan a comic book/strip sequence. Practice character development, story building, facial expression, and figure drawing to make your characters come alive. Look at samples of graphic novels, traditional comics, manga, and anime, then make your own comic that reflects your own voice and style.

Develop your creative photography skills as you become a photographer with something to say. Get acquainted with your camera’s options, experiment with lighting, portraits, macro and micro viewpoints, and try innovative techniques. Explore Adobe editing tools and showcase your work by creating a photo book or a series to frame. You’ll need a DSLR or mirrorless camera; some in-class loaners are available with advance notice.

Develop your own video shorts from start to finish. In small groups, you’ll storyboard, rehearse, and film commercials, how-to videos, and short features. Plan your script, visuals, and sound before stepping behind the camera to capture your scenes. Then edit and enhance them using green screen backgrounds, add music and sound effects, and watch your videos come to life.

Grab a racquet or paddle and get into the swing of things. Try a variety of racquet sports including badminton, ping pong, pickleball, and more, whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience. Learn the rules, practice skills like serving, volleying, and forehand and backhand shots, and try out spins and smashes if you’re ready for a challenge.
