Make a Movie
Spend your vacation making a movie trailer or shooting a commercial. Working in small groups, you will script, storyboard, rehearse, and film while learning techniques like script writing, rule of thirds, and mise-en-scene. Use Final Cut Pro to edit, add titles, sound effects, and music. You’ll have a finished film by the end of the week.
Arjun Joyce
Arjun Joyce is a specialized support paraprofessional and elementary teacher who you may recognize from Film/Drama classes at Hardy After School. He is an artist and filmmaker, and has worked on many film sets, ranging from commercials to music videos. He has filmed and edited videos for the Cambridge Public School District, Harvard University’s College of Arts and Sciences, and the medical education platform GIBLIB. Arjun has also has sold several paintings both online and in Manhattan gallery shows. As a child he wrote and sold his own comics while studying all the “how to make your own comics/draw realistic characters” books he could find.
