We’ll explore the history, symbolism, and wax-resist technique as you create your own decorated eggs using traditional tools and dyes, including real eggs, beeswax, and a tool called a kistka. Attend one or both sessions. Intro to Pysanky: We’ll focus on foundational techniques and traditional designs as you learn the wax-resist process from start to finish. Complete one or two finished pysanky while gaining an appreciation for this rich folk art tradition. NewTraditional Straw OrnamentsFine Arts & CraftsBring a little winter magic indoors by crafting delicate wheat straw ornaments inspired by traditional folk art. Learn to shape straw into elegant snowflakes and stars, perfect for tree ornaments, window accents, gift toppers, or seasonal handmade gifts. Using templates, guides, and examples, you’ll create a variety of 8-, 12-, and 16-point designs and leave with a collection of 3–6 straw ornaments.Fall 2026 -
NewPysanky Egg Decorating: Ukrainian Folk ArtFamily ClassesCreate beautifully decorated pysanky eggs inspired by Ukrainian folk art. Begin with the Polka Dot (Krapanky) style, layering wax dots onto the egg to form playful patterns. Then try the elegant Drop-Pull (Lemko-style) method, using a pinhead tool to gently pull molten wax into teardrops and flowing designs. Each participant will take home one or two unique eggs.
