Intro to Climbing & Belaying
Challenge yourself on the climbing wall in the AHS gym in this class for beginners. Get the skills needed to safely belay on a ropes course, including how to fasten your climbing harness, tie a figure 8 knot, and participate in a team belay. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to solo belay using the PBUS (pull, brake, under, slide) method.

Jon Brennan has worked as a ropes course manager for 12 years and a high school math teacher for 16 years. He currently works at AHS and he is looking forward to helping students learn how to safely belay on a ropes course.
