Introduction to Self-Defense
Self-defense, like swimming, is best learned by doing. While physical self-defense is always a last resort, this workshop puts you in simulated scenarios of threat, intimidation, and violence, teaching both verbal de-escalation and practical protective skills to help you stay calm and respond effectively. You’ll develop a trauma-informed, social-justice-focused approach that challenges victim-blaming. Instructors wear full-body armor, allowing you to safely practice the techniques you learn.
