Intro to Rock Climbing & Belaying on a Ropes Course

Challenge yourself on the brand-new ropes course in the AHS gym in this class for beginners. Get the skills needed to safely belay on a ropes course, including how to fasten your climbing harness, tie a figure 8 knot, and participate in a team belay. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to solo belay using the PBUS (pull, brake, under, slide) method and try out the climbing wall.

Jon Brennan has worked as a ropes course manager for 12 years and a high school math teacher for 16 years. He currently works at AHS and he is looking forward to helping students learn how to safely belay on a ropes course.
