    American Mah Jongg

    Learn to play this fun and fascinating game that combines a Chinese set of tiles with American rules and strategy. You will need your own official 2026 National Mah Jongg League card, which can be purchased when you register. Beginner: We will cover the fundamentals of the game, progressing through familiarity with the tiles, building the wall, understanding the Charleston series of tile exchanges, and learning the hands. No class May 12 Advanced Beginner: For players who already know the basics of how to play and want to develop skills and confidence, or just need a refresher. We will focus on choosing a hand, keeping your options open, and refining knowledge of the rules. Gain speed and mastery as you increase your knowledge of the game. No class May 12 Welcome to the New NMJL Card: April brings the new card of winning Mah Jongg hands, and with it the thrill of discovering the new patterns. We’ll focus on decoding confusing hands, finding backup options, and developing winning strategies. Continuing players will feel confident and ready for the Mah Jongg year ahead.
