Advanced Beginner: For players who already know the basics of how to play and want to develop skills and confidence, or just need a refresher. We will focus on choosing a hand, keeping your options open, and refining knowledge of the rules. Gain speed and mastery as you increase your knowledge of the game. Supervised Open Play: Improve your mah jongg skills in a friendly, supportive environment. With guidance from the instructor, you’ll practice playing more efficiently, strengthen your decision-making, sharpen your defensive play, and expand your ability to select new hands as the game unfolds.

Get comfortable with the card, tiles, and rules as you practice building hands and playing with classmates. You will need to purchase your own official 2025 National Mah Jongg League card. This class is perfect for players who have completed Learn Bridge or anyone looking to refresh their knowledge of modern Bridge. Each fun and interactive session begins with instruction and guided demonstrations, followed by hands-on practice at the table. Topics include opening notrump, Stayman and Jacoby transfers, preemptive bidding, and strong 2C openers, as well as bidding to slam, Blackwood, and play of the hand. Comprehensive handouts are provided at the first session, so you’ll have everything you need to take your game to the next level.

Join other novice and beginner-level players for an enjoyable evening of playing Bridge in a friendly and supportive environment, whether you bring your partner or come on your own. During each session you will play 8-12 pre-dealt hands with your classmates. Feel free to use your notes or ask questions during the game and receive real-time guidance from a certified bridge teacher and club director.
