Big Questions, Bigger Conversations: World Religions for Curious Families
Connect with your 6th or 7th grader through meaningful conversations about some of the world’s major religions and belief systems. Guided by veteran middle school educators, you will explore traditions, sacred stories, celebrations, symbols, and practices within the Abrahamic faiths and beyond. Through discussion, storytelling, hands-on activities, and visits to local places of worship, you will build religious literacy, discover connections, and gain perspectives on our diverse world. No prior knowledge required—just curiosity and an open mind.
PLEASE NOTE: Please register under adult’s name only. The class fee is for one adult and one child.
Julie Kenerson
Instructor
Julie Kenerson has been teaching for 33 years, the last 30 in the Wellesley Public Schools at the 5th and 6th grade levels. She loves the enthusiasm and curiosity students bring to learning about World Religions and Ancient Civilizations. In earlier chapters of her life, she led teacher development workshops and teacher trips through Primary Source, helping to lead teachers to West Africa and Japan. Now she keeps busy with her 14-year old son, her husband, and her chocolate lab Argos.
Jonathan Rabinowitz
Instructor
Jonathan Rabinowitz is an Arlington resident along with his 3 boys (including a middle schooler!) and wife Natalee. He's worked at Wellesley Middle School for 24 years and still feels a sense of energy, enthusiasm, and excitement when working with junior high students. When not in the classroom, Jonathan enjoys spending time in the Whipple Hill Conservation with his two dogs, tending to 2 backyard beehives, and simply spending time with family.
