Jewelry Studio: Foundations in Metalsmithing
Learn the fundamentals of jewelry-making as you create your own wearable designs from start to finish. You’ll practice core fabrication techniques including cutting, filing, soldering, and polishing while developing a bezel-set ring or pendant. Build toward a final project you design and complete with guided support, gaining a strong foundation in traditional metalsmithing and a pathway to continue developing your own work.
Kylie Weinzierl
Instructor
Kylie Weinzierl is a Boston-based artist and jeweler, with a background in performance art and over 13 years of jewelry making experience. Originally from Arizona, Kylie moved to the Boston area in 2020 to get her MFA from the SMFA at Tufts University, and is currently pursuing a Jewelry Making & Repair Diploma from North Bennet Street School.
Kylie owns her own business, KyneticArts, based out of the Joy Street Studios building in Somerville, MA, where she makes fine jewelry and teaches workshops. Having previously held a position as head jewelry instructor at Stonybrook Metal Arts and Sculpture School in Jamaica Plain, she now also works at Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, Arlington Center for the Arts, and the Community Education department at North Bennet Street School.
