Stained Glass 2D Flowers
If you’re new to stained glass, this class is a great place to start. Make two stained glass floral stems to display in a bud vase or planter. Using multicolored pre-cut glass, you’ll complete the six steps of the Tiffany-style stained glass method to create flowers that will bloom forever.
Please note: Instructor will provide all safety gear, masks, eyewear, heatsafe gloves, finger covers, but you should always be extra careful around sharp and hot objects. Absolutely no food or beverage allowed in the workshop. Preferably covered arms and legs and close-toed shoes are best practices in a workshop environment.
Kolika Chatterjee
Instructor
Kolika is a self-taught glass artist in Somerville, known for her botanically-inspired functional glass homeware, asymmetric aesthetics, and stellar use of negative space in stained glass. You might know her work as Kanch (Bengali noun: glass). Kolika individually handcrafts each piece over multiple days, incorporating her love for nature, architecture and geometry. Drawing on a past career as a scientist, Kolika brings an experimental and analytical approach to her studio, gathering inspiration with an entrepreneurial spirit. Kanch by Kolika can be found in museum shops, galleries, and specialty culinary stores throughout New England, and of course, in homes across the world, whispering stories of her tropical homeland.
