With the right tools, solid planning, and a practical, step-by-step approach, you can tackle many common repairs around the home. This DIY workshop begins with an overview of essential hand and power tools—what you actually need, how they’re used, and how to choose the right ones for the job—before moving into everyday fixes and upgrades. Learn techniques for hanging pictures, curtains, and blinds using screws and anchors; changing a door knob; repairing small holes in drywall or plaster; updating cabinet hardware; caulking; and painting basics. Depending on time and interest, we may also explore projects such as installing grab bars into wood framing, hanging a window box, doing basic tiling, and replacing a faucet.
