Intro to Drones & UAS Safety

Curious about flying or buying a drone (also called a UAS, or Unmanned Aircraft System)? This beginner-friendly, two-session course will get you started. Drones can be fun to fly, whether as a hobby or for commercial purposes like photography or surveying, but they come with responsibilities. The first online session introduces drone types, safety rules, regulations, and tips for choosing your first drone. Please join this session on a laptop or computer, as we’ll take the online test together to obtain your hobbyist license, which will allow you to pilot a drone during the outdoor in-person session. Get ready to see the world from a whole new angle!

Hayden created Boston Drone Productions as he realized he could turn his passion into a career. After graduating with his degree in marketing and entrepreneurship from the University of New Hampshire, he started his career in a public relations and marketing firm, working with crisis management and client promotion. During COVID, his father bought a drone, and as Hayden learned to love the capabilities of a drone, he realized this would be an amazing aspect for their marketing clients', as a story could be told with more depth when introducing a drone’s perspective. He quickly obtained his FAA Certified Part 107 Drone Pilots license and became an expert in the field.

Since then, Hayden has worked with exciting partners in a variety of fields, spoken at FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) conferences, and was asked by the University of New Hampshire to teach drone classes (which he happily accepted and has been doing for over a year now). Combining his adoration of the view from the sky with his marketing background and enthusiasm for listening and telling stories, Boston Drone Productions can bring that new perspective to you and share your story.
