Explore the art of Japanese sumi ink and watercolor on rice paper, creating expressive paintings of animals, flowers, landscapes, and anime characters. Learn to grind your own ink, master brush techniques, and experiment with color to bring your ideas to life. Each session introduces a new theme—from realistic and stylized animals to delicate flowers, serene landscapes, and even whimsical anime subjects like Totoro—allowing you to develop your own unique style.
Corry Buckwalter
Corry Buckwalter is a visual artist, educator and landscape designer based in Arlington. Her artwork explores ecology, land use, and botanical history. In the studio classroom, Corry nurtures individual student creativity through inclusive and supportive instruction. Her belief that art making is a catalyst for personal growth and community-building has grown from her extensive experience teaching adult learners of all abilities.
