Art on the Trail

FULL DAY:

Create art inspired by the natural world as you draw, paint, and build in outdoor settings across northeastern Massachusetts. Learn techniques to create depth in your landscape drawings at a scenic summit, sketch animals in motion at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, explore tidal pools and create sculptures using granite remnants at Halibut Point in Rockport, and experiment with watercolor techniques inspired by the flowing water and dramatic rock formations at Purgatory Chasm. Each location becomes your open-air studio, encouraging you to observe your surroundings, connect with the natural world, and turn what you discover into expressive artwork using a variety of materials.
