Intermediate Sewing: Make a Chore Jacket
Take your sewing skills to the next level in this hands-on class for intermediate sewers. With expert guidance, learn techniques like setting in sleeves, constructing collars, adding pockets, and installing buttons or snaps while creating a stylish, functional unisex chore jacket inspired by classic workwear. We’ll use the popular “Paola Workwear Jacket” pattern to make a versatile garment you’ll be proud to wear. You should be comfortable operating a sewing machine and following a pattern.
Note: Materials list can can be found here. Do not purchase until we confirm the class has met minimum enrollment. Sewing machines will be provided but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

Sara is a veteran high school French teacher, a mom of two, and an avid seamstress. She loves sewing her own clothes and sharing her passion for sewing and design with others. In addition to teaching French, Sara runs an after school sewing club, and loves seeing students fall in love with this craft. Sara believes sewing can build confidence, patience, and pride. In this era of fast fashion, there’s nothing like wearing a garment that you made yourself!
