Explore the groundbreaking films of Stanley Kubrick, one of the most influential directors of the twentieth century. Watch four iconic films on your own—Paths of Glory, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Barry Lyndon—and then join us to discuss how Kubrick’s storytelling, cinematography, editing, and music create unforgettable viewer experiences. We’ll also discuss how Kubrick worked with legendary actors like Kirk Douglas and Peter Sellers.

Bill Scott Prenovitz

SHINE Counselor

Bill received his B.A. in Cinema from Binghamton University, managed the film facilities at Boston University, and then worked in the film industry for five years. In addition to a career in strategic marketing, product development, and innovation, he has taught at Boston College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science, and led a BOLLI course in 2023. He currently volunteers as a SHINE Medicare Counselor, studies European history, and is an amateur furniture-maker.
