Writing Love Poems of All Kinds

Love isn’t just hearts, flowers, and romance—it’s complex, multifaceted, and can take many forms. In this generative workshop, we will explore contemporary poetry by Matthew Olzmann, W. S. Merwin, and Jack Gilbert and use their work as inspiration and springboard for writing our own poems of love: past love, new love, old love, and the love we have for our families and friends. Whether you are new to writing poetry or have been writing for years, bring your notebook and a pen or pencil and leave this workshop with the start of 6–8 new poems that express what love, in all its forms, means to you.
