Massachusetts Chocolate History & Tasting

Did you know that when the American colonists boycotted tea due to British taxation, many turned to drinking hot chocolate? Patriot and silversmith Paul Revere even crafted specialized chocolate drinking pots. Massachusetts has many historical connections to chocolate, including being home to North America’s first chocolate factory, the country’s first roadside retail candy shop, and the final resting place of the famed Fannie Farmer. Learn more about our state’s sweet history while tasting exceptional local chocolates.
